When three or more people with panic disorder are willing to meet, we will learn about mindfulness and self-hypnosis. The group will practice relevant skills, log their home-based practice and outcomes, share and problem solve using group wisdom. The group will also use group time for audio-assisted practice and discussion.

Know thyself, wrote the Greek scholar. My aim is to assist you toward effective and functional self-understanding so that you might pursue and achieve the life goals of which you, as a unique person, are most worthy. Harry Truman had on his desk, whatever job he held, these 10 words: "Know right from wrong. Do right. Do your best." I shall always use these words in your service.

Currently accepting new clients. For over 26 years, I have had the pleasure of helping clients achieve their wellness goals, and I welcome the opportunity to work with you. I am compassionate, easy to talk with, and strive to provide a safe space for clients to explore what is inhibiting them from feeling their best. I value building a strong therapeutic relationship and work to tailor sessions to meet each client’s unique needs. My years of experience and training foster my ability to help clients develop healthier habits, routines, and skills to manage life’s challenges.
Once three or more persons contact me, this group will focus on individual's skills to practice in order to sense early signs of anxiety in the body; to master behaviors targeting early signs in order to minimize/eliminate them; mild, physical movements to strengthen one's sense of control over one's body; and to find the "good enough" words each member can choose to use to communicate their anxiety challenge(s). Framework: CBT or hypnotherapy.

Friday, January 25th 5-6:30PM. This workshop is designed to encourage children to identify and express feelings through various art forms, such as painting, drawing, music, games, and movement!
I specialize in working with children and teens, and women who have experienced anxiety and mood disorders related to pregnancy, childbirth, and coping with the postpartum experience. I have a unique expertise in treating individuals on the autism spectrum, and those with ADHD, OCD, and trichotillomania diagnoses. Many people seek treatment with me since I utilize exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP). I use play therapy, expressive arts, and sand tray therapy when working with children. With adults, I integrate art, breathwork, mindfulness and mind-body connection approaches into traditional talk therapy treatment.
DBT skills training is called a "group" but is really more of a class as you learn new skills each week. This group is specific for young adults, 18-29 year-old. The goal is to help individuals learn skills to apply to their lives and obtain support to increase success of using the skills at school, work, and life. This does not substitute for therapy and attendees are required to have an individual therapist. This is 100% virtual which is very successful! Interested in learning more? Email me!
I am launching my DBT skills training series for 18-29 year old's next week! Please see details under groups. If you want to communicate, email is most effective. Phone call replies will have a delay. I specialize in working with individuals who are often considered to be "high-risk", have more than 1 diagnosis, and a lot going on. This usually includes those who have trouble managing and tolerating their emotions and relationships resulting in engaging in behaviors to manage oneself like self-injury, substance abuse, suicidal thinking, and suicidal behavior. Do you resonate with me and think we may match? Email me!
Our DBT groups meet for 90 minutes/week for six weeks. Each week focuses on education around DBT skills and practical ways to integrate them into your life. Participants should expect a little bit of homework and should be able to commit to the full six week session. All group participants must have an ongoing relationship with an outpatient provider or other mental health professional.

Are you having a hard time figuring it all out? What you want, how to get there, or who you are? If you have big ideas that you’re having a hard time translating into daily life, you’ve come to the right place. I love working with adolescents and young adults who want to create a path towards their goals. I often work with people whose anxiety, depression, trauma, or behavioral struggles have held them back from being able to find the version of themself that they seek. If you know where you want to be but can’t get there or if you don’t even know who you want to be, let’s talk. Find out more here: www.ampersandcounselingma.com.

We are all on our own life path. The path isn’t always straight forward. Life doesn’t always go according to plan, sometimes we need a little focus or footing. People struggling with bi polar disorder or depression will find compassion, support and most importantly crucial coping strategies in this group, which focuses on hope in recovery. Clients offer one another stories of struggle and success while learning how to manage what can be a crippling diagnosis unless managed correctly. We focus on the correct way of living with bi polar disorder and depression, reviewing the role of medications and interpersonal support along with CBT interventions that bring solace and strength.
I specialize in meeting the needs of creative individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, or other mental health issues. Because I am the author of ten critically acclaimed books, I also work with aspiring writers, helping them to gain publication. My work is intensely relational and always focused on real results. I believe that clients are paying for a service and that they deserve to see measurable and lasting change. Along these same lines, my treatment is often relatively brief. We identify the problem(s) and the steps to change along with a timeline for these steps. Clients become active agents in their own recoveries.

FAQs - About Group Therapy and Support Groups
How can I find a support group in 01603?
Search for nearby support groups by inputting your city, zip code, or the name of the group into the search bar. From there, you can filter to find a group that suits your needs, whether you are looking for support for a teenager, a group that focuses on a specific issue, such as depression, or a particular program type, such as one geared toward developing social skills. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.
How does group therapy work?
Therapy groups are led by one or more therapists and serve to help people process their experiences and learn from others who understand their challenges firsthand. They can be based on a specific issue, such as addiction, grief, physical illnesses, parenting, and caregiving. They can involve a specific type of program or therapy, such as a social skills group or CBT group. They can also be specific to a particular population or community, such as teens or LGBTQ.
Support groups, like Alcoholics Anonymous, also focus on a specific issue, but are typically led by members with lived experiences and are less structured than therapy groups. Most therapy groups will meet for a fixed length of time with a consistent group of members, while many support groups meet for an indefinite period of time with members coming and going.

Most therapy groups will meet for a fixed length of time with a consistent group of members, while many support groups meet for an indefinite period of time with members coming and going.
What are the benefits of group therapy?
Support groups help connect people with shared challenges or physical and mental health conditions. In a group setting, participants can receive support and feedback from peers and can acquire new skills, strategies and perspectives by listening to one another. Discussing your experience with someone who also has a cancer diagnosis, or whose son also struggles with addiction, for example, can help you feel less alone, reduce distress, find empathy and connection, and learn practical or medical information that has helped others. Group therapy can also be a more affordable option than individual therapy and just as effective.
Is group therapy as effective as individual therapy?
Support groups can be deeply valuable for both emotional support and/or treatment outcomes. It’s difficult to make a blanket statement on efficacy due to the many different types of support groups and conditions treated, but group therapy has been found to be just as effective as individual therapy in establishing long-term abstinence for conditions such as substance abuse, addiction and alcohol abuse.
How much does group therapy cost?
Group counseling is typically less expensive than individual counseling, with each session costing on average between $60 to $75. Meanwhile, individual therapy sessions can run anywhere from $100 to $200 and up, even after insurance. It is possible to find low-cost group therapy options and many therapists offer group sessions free of charge.
Does insurance cover group therapy?
As with individual therapy, many insurance companies do offer coverage for group therapy sessions. However, the coverage varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider. Individuals are encouraged to check with their insurance providers to verify coverage.
How long does group therapy last?
The length of a support group session is often one hour but can fall anywhere between 45 minutes and two hours. The amount of time that people remain in a support group varies based on their specific needs and goals and the type of therapy. Some individuals may seek a shorter-term group, such as a bereavement group, that may last between six and 20 weeks. Some may seek a longer-term group that lasts for a year or indefinitely.
What are the limitations of support groups?
Support groups have many benefits, but there are a few limitations as well. Support groups do not constitute formal therapeutic or medical treatment, and are not run by licensed mental health professionals, so some people may opt for group therapy or individual therapy instead. Additionally, support groups can depend on the other participants, so a disruptive individual has the potential to mar the group dynamic, and the anecdotal information shared may sometimes be unhelpful or inaccurate. Because it is a group setting, confidentiality can be more difficult to guard and participants receive less personalized attention than they would in an individual therapy session.
