Lucy Blake PhD

Lucy Blake, Ph.D. is a Lecturer in Children, Young People, and Families at Edge Hill University in the U.K. She completed her Ph.D. and postdoctoral research in psychology at the Centre for Family Research at Cambridge University. In the past 10 years, she has published more than 30 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and presented research findings in and across the U.K., Europe, and North America. Her research has focused on three broad areas —family estrangement, where family members have a distant relationship with one another in terms of contact, communication, and quality; family functioning and psychological well-being in new or non-traditional families, such as those created by assisted reproductive technologies; and family relationships and psychological well-being in families in which children have a disability or chronic health condition.
