Jonathan R. Stevens, M.D., M.P.H.

Jonathan Stevens, M.D., M.P.H., is double-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Adult and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. He is the Chief of Outpatient Services and Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at The Menninger Clinic and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas.

He is the former Physician-In-Charge at Henry Ford Health Systems (Dearborn clinic) and Clinical Assistant Professor at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. He is the former Medical Director of North Shore Medical Center Pediatric Psychiatry Inpatient Unit in Lynn, Massachusetts. He graduated from the combined MD-MPH program at New York Medical College, earning a master’s in public health policy and management (2004). His residency in Adult and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry was completed at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and McLean Hospital (2007 and 2009, respectively) under the auspices of Harvard Medical School in Boston. 

As the founder of Menninger’s existing Outpatient Services, he has led the development of unique and personalized services for individuals seeking premier mental health care. His clinical interests include improving the outcomes of psychiatric care, understanding the pharmacokinetics of ADHD medications and managing the metabolic burdens of psychiatric medications. He serves as principal investigator (PI) for BridgeUp at Menninger, a major initiative to improve the mental health and well-being of disadvantaged youth in Houston. He has had scores of peer-reviewed articles and book chapters published on psychopharmacology, as well as the book Facing Overweight and Obesity: A Complete Guide for Children and Adults, which he edited for Massachusetts General Hospital’s Psychiatry Academy, with chapters contributed by colleagues at Menninger and nationwide (2019). He is also a frequent expert guest for TV and publications in print and online and is in demand as a speaker at clinical and public events.
