Janet Hicks Ph.D.

Janet Hicks, Ph.D., is a professor of counselor education at Belmont University who specializes in child and adolescent development. As a former school counselor and licensed professional counselor, she has experience working with children, youth, and families in the counseling setting. Her research has included topics such as bullying, cyber-bullying, substance abuse, fire setting, self-injury, career development, and other areas aimed at improving the mental health, academic achievement, and emotional development of youth. She is currently an American Counseling Association Fellow and has received various local and national teaching and research awards.
