Charlotte Markey Ph.D.

Charlotte Markey, Ph.D., is a professor of psychology and founding director of the health sciences program at Rutgers University, where she teaches a course on The Psychology of Eating. She has been doing research examining eating behaviors and body image for over 20 years.  Her latest book is The Body Image Book for Girls: Love Yourself and Grow Up Fearless (a book for tweens, teens and those who care for them).  Her first book, Smart People Don’t Diet: How the Latest Science Can Help You Lose Weight Permanently, was called "possibly the best book on weight loss ever written” by Scientific American.
