Beth L Dinoff Ph.D.

Beth L. Dinoff, Ph.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesia, Carver College of Medicine, at the University of Iowa. She serves as a pain psychologist within a busy pain management clinic. Prior to working in the academic medical setting, she developed pain programs for military veterans within the VA system of healthcare for more than 13 years. Her research interests include ethical treatment of persons with pain, links between pain and trauma, ways that pain is connected to anxiety, and pain through the aging process. In 2017, the poster she submitted with her colleagues entitled “Pain May Predict Trauma in Persons with Cancer” received an award for the best poster in basic science at the annual meeting of the Academy of Integrative Pain Management. Dr. Dinoff received her Ph.D. from the University of Kansas in 2001 and she completed an NIH fellowship in pain at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2003. *Short bio:* Beth L.
