Jeannette K Correa Ph.D.

About

Jeannette Correa, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist in New York and Vermont. She is currently the Director of Clinical Training at MindWell Psychology and sees both couples and individual clients. Before completing her doctorate, Correa worked as a site-based wedding coordinator. It was this role that ultimately sparked her interest in couples therapy. She is passionate about helping couples build and maintain healthy relationships from the point of commitment onward. She has more than 12 years of experience working with couples of various backgrounds in her roles as wedding coordinator and psychologist. Correa is interested in expanding the field of premarital counseling to include protective skills that address wedding stress, healthy commitments, and interpersonal emotion regulation.

Correa has co-authored scientific articles on topics including worry across the lifespan, modifying CBT for religious clients, and outcomes of using a transdiagnostic approach to therapy but has found a particular passion for training new therapists. She leads a couples therapy training track for predoctoral externs in hopes that more psychologists will develop the interest and skills necessary to work with couples.
