James Barnes, MSc., MA, is a psychotherapist in private practice, and faculty and lecturer at Iron Mill College, Exeter. He has master's degrees in philosophy and integrative psychotherapy.

James’ interests and work centres around relational and intersubjective models of the psyche, where he draws on relational psychoanalysis, developmental and humanistic psychology, phenomenology, and existential philosophy. He is an advocate for the broad de-medicalisation of emotional and psychological distress.
