Gary Goldfield Ph.D.
Gary Goldfield, PhD., C. Psych., is a Senior Scientist with the Healthy Active Living & Obesity (HALO) Research Group at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute in Ottawa, Canada. Dr. Goldfield is also a Professor of Pediatrics in the Faculty of Medicine, and cross-appointed to the Schools of Psychology, Human Kinetics, and Population Health at the University of Ottawa. He is also an Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University and 3 other universities. He has published over 180 scientific papers in top peer-reviewed medical and psychology journals, and has given more than 150 presentations at national and international conferences. His research in the areas of physical activity, screen time and mental health, as well as pediatric obesity treatment and prevention is internationally recognized. Dr. Goldfield serves on the editorial board of two peer-reviewed journals in his areas of expertise, as well as many advisory boards for non-profit organizations, and scientific panels for national funding agencies. He is also a registered clinical psychologist who provides psychological assessment and therapy services to children, adolescents and adults in his private practice.
Dr. Goldfield is working on two book projects entitled Neuro Portals: Effects of Digital Media on Mental Health, Cognition and The Brain and No More FOMO: How Parents and Teens Can Reduce Social Media Use Without Missing It.
