Eugene Rubin M.D., Ph.D.


Eugene Rubin, M.D., Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Psychiatry at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He was Vice-Chair for Education from 1992 to 2022. He was a clinical investigator in the Washington University Alzheimer Disease Research Center and has been involved in clinical research studying depression in the context of co-morbid medical illness. He was the director of the psychiatry residency training program at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis from 1987 to 2007. He has authored or co-authored approximately 140 publications, including 92 in peer-reviewed journals. He and Dr. Charles Zorumski published a book for the general public entitled Demystifying Psychiatry: A Resource for Patients and Families. In addition, they published Psychiatry and Clinical Neuroscience: A Primer.
