Darren J. Edwards Ph.D.
Darren J. Edwards, Ph.D., is a Senior Lecturer at Swansea University, College of Human and Health Science working in the Department of Public Health, Policy, and Social Sciences. He obtained his Ph.D. at Swansea University in 2010 in the area of Cognitive Psychology.
Darren is a registered Chartered Health Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS). His academic interests are broad. He is interested in psychological therapies such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), the impact of therapy in society, categorization models of mind, health psychology, models of pain, psychological applications with computer science, artificial intelligence (AI), and policy implementation and governance surrounding health and AI.
Darren has recently developed policy briefs for the Welsh Government in conjunction with the National Health Service in the area of health and AI. Darren has also recently co-edited a textbook with SAGE called The Textbook of Health and Social Care.
