Daniel Fryer M.Sc., MBSCH
Daniel Fryer, M.Sc., MBSCH, is a mental health and well-being consultant with 20 years of experience using rational emotive behavior therapy and coaching (REBT/REBC), clinical hypnotherapy, and positive psychology to help people overcome their life blocks and challenges. These include anxiety disorders, work-related stress, self-esteem and confidence issues, anger management, imposter syndrome, loss of control, uncertainty, adjustment disorders, chronic pain conditions, and more.
He is the author of How to Cope with Almost Anything with Hypnotherapy (Green Tree / Bloomsbury) and The Four Thoughts That F*ck You Up . . . And How to Fix Them (Vermillion/Penguin Random House).
He works in private practice, mainly online, and sees clients from all over the world. He has also worked in private health care, the NHS, occupational health, and for the Priory Hospital. He has provided content, strategy, workshops, and webinars to a variety of clients, corporate and otherwise, including This Can Happen Global, HOSPA, New Dog PR, and the mental health app Mind Ease.
He holds a B.A. (Hons.) in journalism and sociology and an M.Sc. in rational-emotive and cognitive behavior therapy. He also holds diplomas in clinical hypnotherapy and cognitive behavioral hypnotherapy, as well as a diploma in animal-assisted therapy (AAT).
A former journalist, he has written articles and features for various magazines and newspapers and has also been featured as a quoted source in the print and broadcast media. He has lectured on college courses and has spoken and public and private events on a variety of mental health and well-being topics.
A trained animal-assisted therapy provider, he once accidentally turned his dog, a rescue from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, into a semi-famous therapy dog who appeared in magazine features and news articles of her own.
With spirituality as one of his top five character strengths (according to positive psychology), Daniel is also a member of the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids (OBOD). This goes a long way in explaining why he is currently living in the middle of a forest with his dog and working on a well-being retreat concept.
