Cornelia C. Walther, Ph.D., is a thought catalyst in the area of hybrid intelligence who combines theory and practice. As a humanitarian practitioner, she worked for two decades with the United Nations in large-scale emergencies in West Africa, Asia, and Latin America with a focus on hybrid advocacy and social and behavioral change. As a lecturer, executive coach, and researcher, she is collaborating with universities across the Americas and Europe. She is an Associate Professor at Sunway University’s Institute for Global Strategy and Competitiveness and a Senior fellow at the Sunway Center for Planetary Health, the Wharton initiative for Neuroscience (WiN), as well as the Wharton McNulty Leadership Center. She is an adjunct associate professor at the School of Dental Medicine, and is affiliated with the Center for International Governance Innovation, the European Policy Center, MindCORE, and the Center for social norms and behavioral dynamics at the University of Pennsylvania. Walther is also an external expert at the United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA) on hybrid intelligence. Since 2021, her focus has been on aspirational algorithms and the potential to harness technology for social good: Artificial intelligence for Inspired Action (AI4IA). In 2017, Walther initiated the POZE (Perspective – Optimization – Zeniths – Exposure) dynamic in Haiti, which has since grown into a global transdisciplinary network of like-minded researchers and practitioners committed to inclusive social change.
