Christopher M. Barnes, Ph.D., is a Michael G. Foster Endowed Professor of Organizational Behavior in the Michael G. Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. His Master of Science in Sleep Medicine is from the University of Oxford, and his PhD in Organizational Behavior is from the University of Washington. His research focuses on human sustainability, with a primary focus on the relationship between sleep and work (see his TEDx talk). He has additional research on other topics, such as leadership and behavioral ethics. His research has been published in top academic journals such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Psychological Science, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and Personnel Psychology, and has been covered in mass media outlets such as The New York Times, BBC, CNN, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The Economist, The Atlantic, and the Washington Post. He is an elected Fellow of both the American Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Science.
