Alex Snider MA, CMF
Alex Snider, MA, CMF, is a strategy lead with the U.S. federal government, where he guides a team working to make government more effective and trustworthy. He spent the first decade of his career at the Department of State, working mainly on Africa and democracy, and has also worked in the U.S. Senate and the World Bank. He studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has a Masters in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
His commitment to mindfulness and embracing emotions goes beyond personal practice; it’s a core part of his professional mission. As co-lead of a government-wide mental well-being community of practice and co-founder of Mindful FED, the first-ever government-wide mindfulness community, Snider strives to bring a mindful and human lens to the bureaucracy he genuinely loves. A Certified Mindfulness Facilitator through UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center, he regularly leads mindfulness and meditation events in the Washington, DC area.
