Great article. Some peanuts for the future discussion:
- Actually zhe NESARC is about an episode of remission, not "stable" remission.
- A small but good part of the ex-alcoholics w/o actual "alcoholism" does abstain completly.

The great news about this - and Stanton Peele points this out very clearly: ONCE IN REMISSION/SOBRIETY [as a fact], ALWAYS IN REMISSION/SOBRITY [as a opportunity]- be it episodic, stable or life-long, be it drinking or abstaining.
