I wonder if perhaps Elisabeth confused DHEA with DHA. It seems unlikely because of her research and experience, but when I first read her very interesting account, I was surprised that DHEA was found to be directly beneficial in neurological/brain function. I know DHEA to be primarily a precursor to many hormones. DHA on the other hand is a lipid that is well known to be very important in a baby's brain development and in the makeup and function of cells, particularly nerve cells. That is why DHA is becoming a rather common supplement in foods including milk.
