To answer your question, yes I think it is harder for children to learn social skills nowadays. The reason for this is simply technology. The world has become so technologically advanced that children no longer want to go outside and play with their friends, but rather stay inside and play video games or watch TV. Many children are not limited to how much they can do of those two things, so it is consuming their lives from the time they get home from school to the time they go to bed.
