I have to agree with you, and feel at some point this sort of approach basically just becomes Political Correctness run Amok. Which is not to excuse insensitivity or loutish behavior, but like it or not, we have to find some other way besides continually being "inauthentic", just to cope with our differences and the many "assumptions" & "judgments" that we ALL make... not just whites, but also black, red, turquoise, whatever.
So instead of always worrying about being "PC", what's wrong with using the good old Golden Rule.... just treating others the way we want to be treated?
