Thanks for this note. I'm not surprised by what you observed. Early in my own college teaching I tried some of what you must have tried, with similar results. I agree with your assessment. People in a traditional school have a certain mindset about eduction and you can't change it for one course. -- I plan to devote a posting to this topic soon.
