I really enjoyed your article. It has a lot of great points. One of my favorites was that adults aren't trusting of their neighbors. I just discussed this with my son, who wanted to go play. I said yes, but I have to go with you. (This was too embarrassing) Why? Because I don't know those people.
However, while ADHD is over diagnosed, it does not mean it's not a real disorder. I don't believe that the only reason for the diagnosis is to control the kids. Not with my child, but me. I have experienced ADD and the problems. I worked with multiple therapies, medication included, to over come the challenges. I have lost friends, a spouse and jobs due to impulsive behavior.
ADD is a brain disorder.
Moral growth is promoted when we allow little ones to act on their instincts.
If allowed to help, toddlers become great work partners later in childhood.
