I write action-adventures & mysteries especially for tween boys. In order for many of the plots to develop, it’s necessary to separate the kids from their parents and other adults.
In order to accomplish the separation, many of my stories take place in more rural areas, smaller towns, and farming communities. For stories that take place in larger areas or cities, I make sure the characters operate in groups.
My degree is in psychology, and my wife and I have raised a son and a daughter. It was difficult to achieve a balance between safety and freedom.
My blog, Books for Boys http://booksandboys.blogspot.com is dedicated to drawing attention to the importance of reading.
