One aspect that I miss from this discussion is the declining child count. When you procreate in multiples, the pressure on the parent for each child to succeed is lessened. From my observations during travels all over the world, I conclude that todays parents (western and chinese) tend to be more over-protective than strictly necessary because they have all the eggs riding in the same basket/child. Any thoughts on this?
Moral growth is promoted when we allow little ones to act on their instincts.
