It is sometimes hard for me to be mentally strong when I have health issues that sap my energy such as migraines, low iron and thyroid issues. To accept my limitations and change my thinking is easier said than done. It is often depressing not to feel mentally strong when all you want to do is lay on the couch. Yes i have a few good hours on some days where I am able to accomplish things, and i am grateful for those times. I would give anything to become mentally strong in the 13 ways you write about, but when you lack the energy physically it affects you mentally.
