Why are so many people drawn to conspiracy theories in times of crisis?

Hello, Sophia. This post and so much of your writing has been useful to me. For most of my life, sharing about myself was so unfamiliar and awkward that I gravitated towards people who filled all the conversational space. Then, when I did try to talk about myself, often I'd find the other person barely understands what I'm talking about, there's no connection. I'm finding that now with a new "friend" and trying to decide how or whether to continue the friendship. Anyway, thanks.
