This is my first time posting a comment in Psychology Today. I was inspired by your piece. What a great post! I wholeheartedly agree. I am also too one of those emotionally open people.
Regarding your question, from my personal experience (moved and traveled a lot, so I learned to make friends and acquaintances very quickly), now I move on when I encounter close off people. They are so cautious and distrustful that even after investing a lot of time and effort into the relationship, they still doubt my intentions. They certainly don't do vulnerability at the level I need it for the relationship to be meaningful and fruitful for me.
