Couldn't have said it better myself, she is clearly interpreting the word addict as universally negative, when some people just say they're addicted to something to express they like it very much. It's like how some gay people started using that derogatory f-word to refer to themselves and nullify it's harshness. Scorn has no place in post-modern society.
