Great technique which should be attributed to Mr. Dale Carnegie. I have many of his books and am a student of communication. In his 1926 book "How to Develop Self-Confidence & Infuence People by Public Speaking," he outlines this exact technique with almost the same words.
I am sure you didn't mean to present it as your own technique.
