Okay here's where I don't agree with you at all.
I'm fairly average looking in general I'm female.
I've had multiple friendships with males over the years because we're invested in the same interests.
Video games, Sports, Digital Content, Art.
In high school especially I did find it very hard to connect with other females often they actually ignored my companionship.
If someone does not have female friends, in neither means they're shallow or competitive.
I've had many deep conversations with the opposite gender, perhaps it's because you'd rather believe a stereotype than actually come to know people.
Saying " Share the spotlight" alone means that you're lacking self esteem, if you were confident in your own abilities you would not care about such a thing showing you're acting competitive yourself.
When the other woman may not have any intention of competing.
A threesome is a common fantasy but not a common behavior.
