I agree with you Allie!. That's emotional abuse in my book, and you shouldn't have to put up with it. I was in a similar situation. My partner was doing the same thing.. 'I called it fence sitting!. He would just tell each of us what we wanted to hear. The treatment I received from the future inlaws was so bad that I went to a psychiatrist because I was so stressed and doing day-to-day activities. I was diagnosed with PTSD and social anxiety. I feel like part of it was my fault. I shouldn't have tolerated this behaviour for years! I went against my better judgement and just 'put up with it'. Partly because of ridiculous google articles that encourages women to bow down to emotional abuse. It's not the Middle Ages, it's not Victorian England. Women have human rights to respect!
