This is no fad. I myself have practiced this unhealthy lifestyle for years. I think social media has made society aware. I am 55 years old and work in sales. Appearance has always been important. It was easy for me to starve during the day, knowing I would be taking in wine calories at night. Of course, over the years the couple glasses of wine, became several bottles a night, causing health issues. This included blackouts, osteoporosis, and arthritis in my lower back. Not to mention, alcoholism. Now sober, and living a healthy life style, I see how damaging this viscous cycle can be. I hope by sharing my story other young women will come to their senses. I am NOW at a healthy weight, sober and feel like I should have at 30. Not to mention, the strength and confidence I have found.
