I always thought that T on the TF scale means more lack-of feeling (empathy) than "thinking" per se. On the other hand S on the SI scale is more a proxy for the "logical thinking" types (based on pure fact based logic) as we know now that intuition is just a higher level of "thinking".
Nevertheless, I also think that MBTI is severely outdated in the light of the latest neuroscience and psychology.
