Understanding the world as it really is—random—can liberate and empower us.

Dear anonymous, I am an introverted nurse! Have been for several years now...worked on an incredibly busy med/surg unit and am now in a Trauma ICU. You're right, nursing school is absolutely insane. But it gets better! Life is a balancing act in so many ways; as other people have posted, lots of jobs (i.e. teaching) require large amounts of social interaction. Personally, I can become drained at work too. Strategies I use are taking a walk on a break to have some space, reading and writing/journalling away from work, hiking and backpacking and such.. And having a few close friends to lean on and deconstruct things helps a ton. Hopefully you can hang on til the finish line, and find a less frantic, more fulfilling work environment post-grad :)
