Great article and discussion. While eHarmony shares very favorable results from their website, what is not captured are the people who are never recommended because of a lack of profile matching. (Ships passing in the night if you will.) I know endless amount of long lasting couples who admit to having little in common but hit it off and have been great balances in each other's lives. Everyone's interests are not always the best beacon for compatibility. Not everyone is a clever writer and may not grab a person's attention early.
I would conclude the fine tooth combing of eHarmony can filter like-minded souls for successful pairings but it pales in comparison to the good ole fashioned randomness of face to face encounters and the nuances of recognizing chemistry when being introduced, meeting or bumping into someone and seeing that come to fruition without arrangement preserves the authenticity of romance.
