I'm not sure why we are demanding young adults to delay sexual exploration. If their hormones are raging, people are going to do what they are going to do. Demanding that young adults suppress feelings and ignore their body isn't going to make their desire for sex go away.
I find it interesting that we insist that young adults delay and ignore sex, but sex becomes absolutely mandatory when two people enter a marriage. Psychological experts proclaim that sex is a requirement for two married people in order to have and maintain intimacy. Don't young adults deserve intimacy as well? If we can insist that young people not have sex then we shouldn't be shaming married people who don't wish to have sex.
This a big huge gaping double standard that no teen with a sex drive is going to ignore.
