Why are so many people drawn to conspiracy theories in times of crisis?

my approach to friendship hasn't changed due to devices, it has changed due to unwanted relocation.
i am insular where i am because i do not want to socialize with these people and have nothing in common with them, except the fact that i unfortunately live where i do now.
my opinion is that people should have real, physical friends irl and not have long periods of insularity due to possibility of developing communication disorders and health issues. and if they are were they don't belong they should act right away and move, without money even, not wait until they get miserable, stuck or ill.
parents cannot be substitute for friends, and after certain age it is not healthy to be a child nor it is fair to parents, plus serious mental health issues one can develop due to regression.
