also, one has to consider the context - how many people play smartphone games while in the subway/transport vs in their home?
it would make a big difference because transports today are so unpleasant with all metal, flash lights, and cameras pointed straight at passengers. wouldn't expect people to engage in socializing with others, or meditation, or admiration of interior while being placed in such unpleasant environment, would we?
