I disagree with your hypothesis and conclusions. Your existential threats are real and should never be ignored, but i feel like our own government is as much of a threat if not bigger. This is the polarization of society - some feel this threat and others think it is a silly fear. If we can agree government is the problem and it should take its drama and fear tactics and stay out of our lives as much as possible, we will be much better off as a society. I see that the more government inserts itself into society, the worse things get.
