Many wisdom teachers have been emphasizing exercise for better mental and emotional health for a long time. Personally one of my favorite "teacher" was making this specific point in her workshops 30 years ago based on her observations and personal experience.

The one nuance useful to clarify is what kind of exercise as different exercises have different mental/emotional benefits.

As expected there cardiovascular but also practices
which make us very physically grounded, that bring our awareness into our body.
