Life provides turning points of many kinds, but the most powerful of all may be character-revealing moments.

I have been interested in this inner child stuff for a few years now. I have friends who did 12 step programs and the inner child work was a powerful part of the experience. I have also had the practice recommended to me and I believe that if I could just figure out what the heck it even means, it would be useful to me. Unfortunately I just can't seem to wrap my mind around what you are supposed to be doing. How do you find the inner child? How do you talk to her? How do you "build a relationship" with her? Maybe I'm just not allowing enough flexibility and creativity in my thinking... I feel certain that I have a hurt inner child, but I don't know where to go to find her. :/
