The tone of this article is inexplicably smug--Klein "knows" that sex addiction "doesn't exist". I don't understand the reason for this smugness, given the likelihood that sex addiction, far from being a "vague" concept, is going into ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases, 10th edition). Here's a thought: Marty Klein, a sex therapist, wants to protect his professional turf. Too many sex addiction therapists mean less professional turf for sex therapists. The profession-protecting subtext of this piece is hard to miss.
