Lee Street Primary School - around 1981 - the parents approached the principal & asked to try - out on the kids - a new method to improve the reading of the kids.
7 kids & a parent sat in a circle
they each had a copy of the same book
the parent began by reading a bit
then each kid had a turn
the rules were
keep reading no matter what
and around & around the went
the group was made up of good readers & poorer readers
it was audio, visual learning.
each heard their mistakes corrected & learned
at the end of a few sessions all the kids & the parent were much better readers.
