Saying "I have personally known and seen pets who died from cargo hold flying. Put children down there if it is so safe" is like saying "I have personally seen magical flying unicorns so that must mean they're real." Cargo holds are a lot safer. Suppose the plane has turbulence or a bumpy landing? A dog in someone's lap will fall or even possibly fly through the air and it could even result in fatal injuries. If it's in a carrier in the cargo hold, it won't be hurt. What's more important to you, the welfare of the animal, or you getting to use the animal in the passenger area of the plane as a security blanket?
Also, your underlying animosity for real human beings and the way you seem to value animals over people is disconcerting, if not completely disgusting. Some people are uncomfortable around children but why do you seem so angry towards them?
Even a brief visit with a therapy dog can reduce anxiety in ER patients.
Children become less involved with their pets when they enter adolescence.
We could save millions of animals by eating one additional meatless meal a week.
