under the impression that I am fundamentally unlovable for years. Mom called us kids mistakes, dad only took care of "the boys." What helped me was DBT therapy and doing an exercise called, "Positive Planet" where you write down daily examples of people showing they like you. Even if it's just that a friend called to say "hi". Turns out both my parents are/were idiots, and I am pretty well liked and loved by my friends, students, and cats. Suck it mom and dad!
