I'm glad there is more surveillance of public places; we appear to be at higher risk for mass shootings/bombings in public spaces these days. How many criminals have been caught and convicted thanks to surveillance cameras? Probably a lot.
It's impossible to know how much crime has been deterred thanks to the increasing presence of surveillance cameras, but I'm willing to bet it's a lot.
Me personally, I don't mind surveillance of my correspondence if it means an increased ability to track and catch would-be terrorists.
It's hard to imagine other people objecting to the things we value
In the future, our motives will be transparent. That's not good.
