When I read the questions, I thought the same thing. My kids are all adopted. They all started their life with a huge loss that no one seems to validate. Not even this questionnaire...
It doesn't matter if I am not abusive. I can never erase the trauma that came with their early life, their feelings of being rejected by their first mom or the truth that "being adopted" is part of who they are forever. It is not really past tense.
Early emotional trauma changes who we are, but we can do something about it.
