This is such a tricky, fine line. Very challenging life events DO happen. To all of us. I am not suggesting that we don't have reasonable reactions to painful experiences. There are times when we are truly emotionally struggling in response to very tough experiences. I commend you for seeing a therapist. That said, we have more control than most of us want to admit. We always have a choice about how we are going to respond to the world. And we can make our lives more or less fulfilling based on how we choose to respond.
