To you interaction must be physical to be right but that doesn't make it so for others. Kids I know chat with folk the world over. Racism is hard when your life is not narrowly focused on those in physical range.
It's also hard to ignore things happening in the world when connected. You can disconnect and never know Chocolate is made by child slaves in Africa and think we abolished slavery when we just moved it. Head to the small town I grew up in where the old folk are still scared of technology and the ignorance of the real world is staggering.
