Too true Darleen. It shouldn't be up to the parents to have to push for extracurricular schooling and an appropriate curriculum for their child. It should be the school's mandated obligation. Many parents don't actually have the knowledge, support, resources or motivation to advocate for their gifted children in this way. Too many have untapped potential and learn to cope with boredom as a result.
