The summer wind came blowin' in
From across the sea
It lingered there to touch your hair
And walk with me
All summer long
we sang a song
And then we strolled that golden sand
Two sweethearts and the summer wind
Like painted kites, those days and nights
They went flying by
The world was new beneath the blue
Umbrella sky
Then softer than a piper man
One day, it called to you
I lost you I lost you to
The summer wind
- "The Summer Wind", lyrics by Johnny Mercer

Unfaded, yet prepared to fade,
A timely carolling.

I find summer oppressive and depressing, I'm welcoming Autumn!!
DITTO,DITTO,DITTO!
Have never fathomed this knee jerk ecstasy over Summer. Autumn is my first love; its jumble of colours on the falling leaves, the slant of the sun, the bracing windswept rain and that sweet melancholia of transition inward....bliss :)
You articulated the main reason I love fall in your last sentance, turning inward...bliss...ah, yes!
Autumn is my favorite season as well!
